Introduction
My wedding day came quickly. We decided the week before our wedding to get married. In the scripture today, Boaz and Ruth are married and they have a child. For Naomi, this is her desire, that she becomes a grandmother.
Reading and Assignment
Ruth 4: 13-16, Psalm 30:11, SOAP Ruth 4: 14-15
Scripture
And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
Application
Blessings are from God. Count your blessings name them one by one. What are your blessings today?
Prayer
Father God, you alone are responsible for the blessings in our lives. Let me be mindful of the blessings that you give me on a daily basis. Let me count them one by one. Your word, Jesus Christ as my savior, my children, my grandchildren, the fact I am retired are just a few of the blessings I am acknowledging today. Lord, let me never forget that You are God and You give me life. Let me claim Your blessings for my life.
Conclusion
Ruth trusted God, Naomi reluctantly trusted God but her joy is evident as she holds her grandchild. God did not forget Naomi and did not leave her bitter. She experiences joy. Beloved, we can experience joy even if our circumstances are less than desired. We only need to trust in our God for the day’s blessings.
Count your blessings, what are your blessings today?
