Have you ever felt overwhelmed? What verse do you go to in the Bible? “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give your rest,” Matthew 11:28 is usually shared when people are feeling overwhelmed.
Are you feeling overwhelmed? More month than money. More work than hours in the day. No sleep for days. You lost a loved one like I just did. You are single and your desire marriage. Your married and you’re struggling with your relationship. Jesus cares for you as we see in 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
However, according to Dr Charles Ryrie this verse Jesus invites us to accept him as Lord and Savior. In John 7: 37-38 a similar invitation.
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, one must admit that he/she is a sinner, that Jesus is God’s son and that Jesus he died on the cross for our sins. Read John 3:15-17.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:10
The second lesson from these verses: discipleship.
Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too, that this nation is Your people.” And He said,“My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here Exodus 33: 13-14
Moses speaking and he prayed for God’s presence to go with him. We have the Holy Spirit that goes with us and enables us to a witness. We have the privilege to mentor others and share Christ.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 1 Corinthians 10:6
The third lesson is from the verse 29, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls,” and that is to serve in the yoke with the Lord. Per Wikipedia, a yoke is a wooden beam normally used between a pair of oxen or other animals to enable them to pull together on a load when working in pairs, as oxen usually do. When we work with the Lord who is always at work around us, follow him, seek him daily, the promise is we will find rest for our souls. Jesus yoke is easy.

Beloved, Do you know Jesus? Will you mentor another Christian woman?
Father God, I will always come to you when my burden is heavy and I will walk with you because with you your yoke is easy. I pray for the one that needs you as her savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
