    Access To God

“May I see you in my office?” These words raise the hair on the back of my neck to this day. Have you ever had your boss say to you, “I have an open door policy,” when they really had a closed-door policy? Oh, and how did you feel once you’re behind close doors? Did fear feed you while you were waiting for your boss to tell you why you’re called to the office?

When I decided to let go and change direction of my career by giving up the management title, those words, held less negative impact on me. However, the first time, I heard the words in my non-management role, I still reacted. But when I went to my boss’s office, I received a compliment. In this new job, the open door policy is truth. From that day I’ve access to her anytime I need her while I’m working. This access allows me to ask her questions and get help when needed.

Just as I have access to my boss, God’s given us a gift of access to Him through the Holy Spirit. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, three in one, the trinity is given to each believer when we accept Jesus as our savior. God, Jesus and Holy Spirit were together in the beginning when the world’s created by God. Genesis 1:26, Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness. The Holy Spirit is the comforter and he edified God. In Romans 8, nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Beloved, we can grieve the Holy Spirit through our sinning, 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, Jesus is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. Then we can walk in harmony, refreshed, renewed with God. We have access to God through the Holy Spirit.

I had so much fear in my first job but in my second job there was no fear, I trusted God to give in both situations and the Holy Spirit was in both offices. Beloved the Holy Spirit is with you and you have access to God because….

God is love. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4: 16 a; 18-19
