28 Days of Loving God – Day 28
Beloved, our last word in this series is tired. As humans, when we think of tired in a negative connotation. Quite frankly, when I saw the word tired, I thought about how most nights I am tired. Since coming out of retirement, the tiredness I feel is good. I am sleeping soundly, working hard, and feeling revitalized.
But today, as we look at the verses in Isaiah 40,
Why would you ever complain, O Jacob,
or, whine, Israel, saying,
“God has lost track of me.
He doesn’t care what happens to me”?
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?
God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind. Isaish 40: 27-31 Message
We see that God never gets tired. God never tires of our tears, our prayers, and our concerns.
Beloved, God is our cheerleader. God loves us.
God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. God is love.
If I could hug you, and reassure you, I would let you know how special you are, sweet friend, you are loved with an ever lasting love.
Father God, thank you for loving us. In Jesus’s name, amen.
