Unwrapping the Names of Jesus- Day 13
Beloved, I love Christmas, to give presents, but the wrapping of gifts is something I procrastinate on doing. I have had to mail my gifts in the last few years, so I have had to be more timely. The warning is to send early this year, and I will be pushing the envelope to get the packages in the mail today. I am most excited about the name that we unwrap today for Jesus–Alpha and Omega.
Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Read with me Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,[a]the Beginning and the End,” says the [b]Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8. NKJV.
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, I pray this often as an attribute of Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He created all things. Read these verses in Colossians.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or [a]principalities or [b]powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Colossians 1: 16-17. NKJV.
In An Advent Devotional, Unwrapping the Names of Jesus by Asheritah Ciuciu, she says, “And when He (Jesus) breathed His last breath, He declared, ‘It is finished,’ The work of justification had its beginning and its end in Jesus.”
Jesus knowing all, did his work with the “joy set before him,”
looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2. NKJV.
As you unwrap or mail your packages today, remember this fact. Sweet Friend Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end. So how will you celebrate this today?
Father God, thank you for Jesus. In Jesus’ name Amen.
