28 Days of Loving God – Day 9
Beloved, our word today is elegance. Elegance is not in the Bible, but the idea is in the Bible. The definition of elegance is the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner; style.
We read about an elegant queen in the book of Esther. Esther was a Jew living in a foreign land and could save the Jews. She becomes a wise queen and risks her life to expose a plot to annihilate the Jewish nation.
We read about the temple that King Solomon built.
We read in Luke 7 about a woman with an elegant bottle of alabaster ointment that she washes the feet of Jesus with using her hair that the Lord Jesus uses as an illustration and declares that her sins are forgiven.
Another idea of elegance is that each one of us is created in the image of God. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and loved beyond measure.
We see elegance in the creation of the world. God so loves us that he gave us his son. He paints the sky. He provides us with wildflowers and beautiful glistening snow.
So when you think of elegance, what do you think about it?
Father God, thank you for the excellence we have in our lives. Whether it is a new baby or a beautiful new rose, God is love. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
