Beloved, cross your arms like you always do, now try to cross them the other way. That is what change feels like, uncomfortable and unfamiliar. In 2010, I experienced change, I stepped away from my management job as a supervisor. That year we left our home we were part of the housing crisis so I no longer needed the salary I was making. So in 2011, I started a new role as a nurse. In 2012, change occurred again, my father in law passed away and we moved to help my husband’s mother. Change happens almost daily in many areas of our lives such as our health, our families, or our jobs. But God does not change, He is unchanging.

On the site Got questions it states, “God is eternal, meaning He had no beginning and His existence will never end. He is immortal and infinite (Deuteronomy 33:27;Psalm 90:2;1 Timothy 1:17). God is immutable, meaning He is unchanging; this in turn means that God is absolutely reliable and trustworthy (Malachi 3:6;Numbers 23:19;Psalm 102:26,27). God is incomparable; there is no one like Him in works or being. He is unequaled and perfect (2 Samuel 7:22;Psalm 86:8;Isaiah 40:25;Matthew 5:48). Today, I heard a song by Chubby Checkers the song Changes. Becky Tirabassi has a Change Your Life Daily Bible, she reads her Bible every day, prays and journals for one hour a day. She has had this habit for over thirty years, she intimately knows an unchanging God. My friend Dr. Nick Yphantides says, “You have to change the way you see before you can change the way you look.”

Joseph was a man who knew change, he was sold as a slave by his brothers, accused of rape, thrown in prison, foretold dreams, ending up as the man who saved his family in Egypt. The verse in Genesis is when he was in prison. God knew where Joseph was and everything that changed in Joseph’s life was because God was in charge of the changes.

Beloved, God is unchanging. Do you know the unchanging God? Do you know His word that is unchanging? No matter what you are going through today God knows where you are and his love for you is unchanging.

What is God asking you to change? What do you need to surrender to God?

Father God, you are unchanging yet our lives change every day. I stand in awe of the way you work in our lives. You are an amazing God. You love us and protect us just as you did Joseph. Help me to change the way I see, help me to see that you never change you are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
