Fake Christian
Beloved, this is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad. Recently, I was called a fake Christian. What do you do when you are criticized? Do you internalize the criticism and shut down? I must admit this hurt because I’ve done much for this person. But then I realized it was time to let go and give this person to God. I needed to forgive so that bitterness doesn’t set me back and trust God with my hurt feelings.
Actively, I’ve lived my life for Christ. Daily, we all have a choice to live for Jesus. Every day, I pray that I will be able to witness to someone the love of Jesus. Henry Blackaby says that God is at work every day around you, and He invites you to join Him. I prayed with a man this week before he was removed from a ventilator. His wife, a precious soul, needed reassurance. God heard our prayers, and this sweet man is recovering.
Recently, our world seems to be more hostile. Yet, this is not surprising because Jesus warns us that the world will be hostile. Jesus was born to save this cruel world.
“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you will give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21.
Regardless of what this person said, I know that Jesus is my savior. I accepted Him as my savior when I was eleven years old. When did you ask Jesus to be your savior?
Regardless of what this person said, it does not change who I am. I am a child of God; I am loved with everlasting love. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. This is true of you and me if Jesus is your Lord and savior.
What do you do when criticized? Run to Jesus for the truth.
