The joy of finding a treasure is exciting
As a child, I always wanted to find a hidden treasure. I loved digging in the dirt, pretending that I could dig my way to China. So our word today is a treasure.
Treasure
Treasure definition is several precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects or kept carefully (a valuable or valued item). Treasure is in the Bible 77 times.
Read with me this verse about heaven found in Matthew.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Matthew 13:44.

We can find our answer in Matthew 6,
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6: 19-21
Where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. In our hearts, we can guard them against malice, hate, anger, and bitterness. We can walk in forgiveness. When we don’t forgive, I have heard it is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Forgiveness is agreeing to letting the person off your hook and putting the person on God’s hook as He is the only fair judge.
Another way to see treasures is to trust God, read His Word, and pray.
Daily, reading God’s Word is like discovering a treasure; read this verse in Psalm 119: 162, “I rejoice at Your Word as one who finds great treasure.”
Beloved, we need to walk with Jesus and look for treasures.
Father God, You love us as a treasured possession. I am in awe of Your mercy and love. Thank You for the significant life events that bring joy, and thank you for the small quiet moments that we can feel Your presence. You are the alpha, omega, the beginning, and the end. You give us every perfect gift. May she bring her negative thoughts captive and in obedience with Your Word? For the one who suffers from an illness, let her rest today in You as the Great Physician. For the one who is hurting emotionally, physically, or spiritually, may she call on the name of the Lord and trust that You will meet her needs and that Your grace is sufficient. In Jesus’s name. Amen
I never dug my way to China or found a hidden treasure, but I see God at work daily in my life.
Will you trust and obey today? What step will you take to find a treasure today?
