Are you lonely? How about married lonely? I struggle fitting in at church unless I teach a class. Because I’m married and my husband doesn’t go to church with me, I do not fit in a couples class or a singles class. Job is lonely. Job shares if he only knew where to find God he would go to his court. God’s presence is elusive. Today, Sin separates us from God. We can actually grieve the Holy Spirit. The distance that Job is feeling really bothers him and he’s actually bothered by this silence and distance.
We read in chapter 23 verses 8 and 9 his search, “I go east and I go west but I cannot find him.”
Beloved, look at Job’s confidence in God in verses 10-12, “But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his way and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands but have treasured his words more than daily food.”
He controls my destiny. Job 23:14:b
Despair comes in loneliness, Jesus also suffered from separation from God. Remember when he was dying on the cross, and for three hours, it was as if God turned His back on Jesus. Matthew 27:46, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken Me?” Jesus experience this loneliness and separation because of sin on our behalf. Neither Job or Jesus lose faith in aloneness, but know future is secure with God. Beloved will you trust God in your aloneness?
Even though I’m married lonely, I serve God, now I serve him online and write this blog. I love church and worship is a part of my service. How might you serve God even if your lonely? How are you staying on God’s paths?
Beloved, somehow I got off on the reading plan. Tomorrow is Job: 24-28.

Father God, for the woman who is lonely may she find you. May she sense your presence in a profound way. May your word renew her faith in you. If she doesn’t know you, would you send your Holy Spirit to confirm her need for a Savior. May we each have the confidence that Job had in you, that even though he could not sense you, he knew you were there. In Jesus name, Amen.
