Recently I attended a Sandy Patty concert, paying extra to see her backstage, however, I missed the email with the directions to go earlier in the evening. King David writes in this Psalm asking, why does God stand so far off? God seems to not be there in times of trouble. Have you ever had times in your life when God does not seem to be present?
“Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” Psalm 10:1
David complains against the arrogant and those that are prideful in the verses 2-5. Do you know anyone puffed up with pride? I’ve someone in my life that’s never wrong. Verses 6-10 show the vengeance of a wicked man, with the focus of verse 10 “His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength.” Vengeance really gets us nowhere.
King David in verse 11 claims God’s omnipotence. King David claims that God sees the troubles of the afflicted.
[Tweet “God sees the troubles of the afflicted.”]
God is the one who brings the justice.
The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. Psalm 10:16
Even though I missed the email, I made it to the concert of Sandy Patty, sat in a section for family, not fans, received all the things I was to receive, her signed CD, just no picture with her, but I sat at the feet of Jesus anyways for an hour. It turned out okay not exactly ruined as Satan wanted all because the email was far off.
