S “If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering they are to offer thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with oil, and thick loaves of the finest flour well-kneaded and with oil mixed in. The meat of their fellowship offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day it is offered; they must leave none of it till morning. “
O Offer of thanksgiving is an expression of thankfulness. The thank offering was to include thick and thin loaves. The finest flour must be well-kneaded and with the oil mixed it. The meat was to be eaten the day it was offered. None could be left till morning.
A How often do you offer an expression of thankfulness? In the Old Testament, the method of forgiveness was through sacrifice of the animals, grain, and bread. Jesus refers to himself as the Bread of Life. He was the sheep that was slain. Just as in the Passover, the meat had to be eaten that day. The manna had to be gathered daily. Have you accepted Jesus as the lamb that was slain? The offering was offered daily. Will you write a prayer of thanksgiving? Worthy is the lamb that was slain.
P Father God, I offer you my sacrifice of praise. You gave us such a beautiful picture in the Old Testament of how sin is forgiven. You gave us Jesus as the perfect sacrificial lamb. He is known as the Bread of Life. I thank you for the plan of salvation, Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.
