For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Perhaps, your church celebrates Advent. Learning about Advent for me occurred while I was in Bible Study Fellowship. Verses to read, candles to light each pointing to Christ and the last candle, the Christ candle. Sweet memories of my boys so excited sitting and listening, waiting for their part in the daily reading.
The first candle is purple, prophecy candle, Jesus prophesied hundreds of years before he is born, the color purple represents royalty-King of Kings. This candle is also known as the Candle of Hope.
Becky Tirabassi of Change Your Life encourages everyone in the month of December to read the book of Luke. Luke is written by a physician. He is a close friend and companion of Paul and a Gentile. According to Dr, Charles Ryrie, he was not an eyewitness of the life of Christ. He was a physician but he was more of an evangelist.
We will look at Luke at the advent of John the Baptist and the advent of Jesus Christ. Read Luke 1 with me, reflect on Isaiah 9:6 this week.
