Today I am thankful for my health. The year is 2009 if you asked me what I would want on a desert island my Bible, my toothbrush, and Excedrin due to migraine headaches. I started having a few twinges in my stomach nothing that made me think I needed to go to the doctor until one morning when the stomach pain’s excruciating. I’m in surgery by noon that day for a perforated ulcer. Shortly after returning home, my lower back flared up and I had sciatic pain. With that I started falling, I fell three times. The last time I was bending in to put something in the oven but instead of falling in the oven, I fell backward.
We read about the Good Samaritan who found a man along the side of the road.
But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denariie and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra cost you may have.’ Luke 10: 33-35
We need to take care of our fellow-man.
I healed by having some injections in my back to cut the swelling so the sciatic nerve pain went away. Shortly, after that, I was able to return to work no more falling.
Today, I am thankful for health.
Father God, thank you for our physical, emotional and mental health. Thank you that you gave the example of the Good Samaritan in the Bible. Thank you for answering our prayers. In Jesus name Amen
