Five-Minute Friday a time to write for five minutes and then connect with other writes.
The word is Rush.
Introduction
How many of you hit your snooze button? I am an avid snooze button hitter. I don’t know why but it seems like I get the best sleep in those ten minutes. Okay, who am I fooling twenty or is it thirty minutes.
We read in Acts 2:2
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Of a rushing wind, the Holy Spirit, came to the believers. I believe with the Holy Spirit’s help we can avoid rushing and being late. That feeling of impending doom, that rush to speed in traffic.
There are 3 ways to avoid the rush.
- Seek God first
- Pray about the day giving God your best
- Get up on time
I am retired now and still have to set an alarm to make it to appointments on time. I only complicate things when I hit the snooze alarm. I have discovered the best way to not be rushed is to seek God, pray and commit your day, and yes get up on time. My mother used to say, “If it is worth doing, it is worth doing it right the first time.” Perhaps, I need to not hit the snooze alarm.
Father God, you are the author of our days and time. Let my time not be rushed. Let me seek you first. If there are others who struggle with time to where there is a rush, let her come to the same conclusion, it is best not to rush. In Jesus’ name. Amen
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
