I’ve always had the job before I had the degree to match the requirements for the job. So when I became a Director of Nurses I needed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I returned to college needing three units to finish my degree so I could take a test that would give me the units. The course was Education Psychology. I didn’t study and I didn’t pass, I missed it by one point. I waited for the proper time but I studied this time, I failed, I missed it by one point. So, I had to return to college, to get those three units. The professor encouraged me to stay in college for my Master’s Degree in Nursing by praising my writing.
Beloved, what talents do you have from the Lord? Do you paint? The only thing I can draw is a flower. Unlike my friend P. J. Di Benedetto, if you look at her work, she is a true artist. Do you crochet, or knit, or sew? I believe our creativeness is a gift from the Lord. One time, I sewed doll clothes for the church and the girls could earn talents and buy the clothes for saying their memory verses.
Today, I am thankful that God has gifted me with the want of stringing words together. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” He gives us hope in Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. He promises we can do all things, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13.
Perhaps you too are a writer, or maybe you haven’t discovered your special talent yet. Maybe you are too busy just being a mom right now, the day will come. I will never forget Trisha Hunter’s words on my assignment telling me that I had a gift for writing and to not quit writing, I started a very simple blog in 2014 under diana157.com, that was three years ago. My writing is all for the glory of God. I did get my Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Father God, thank you for the talents you have gifted us with some with being an artist, some a writer, some an author, some a seamstress, and the list goes on. Father God for the woman who is a great mom let her rest in you as her time will come when the children will not need her as much. I ask that you be glorified in all that we do. In Jesus name. Amen
What talent do you have and will you use it for the Lord?
