There are five ways to find comfort in the chaos of the world.
How do you find comfort in the chaos of the world? We are living during a pandemic. We have an unseen enemy. A tiny virus can invade your body, and I am not talking about the Corona Virus. The enemy that I am talking about is sin. Sin threatens our comfort and peace. So how does one find comfort in the chaos?
Comfort
Comfort is our word, and the definition of comfort is a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint or the easing or alleviation of a person’s feelings of grief or distress. Comfort is in the Bible 119 times. Probably the most famous is when Jesus speaks about leaving a comforter, known as the Holy Spirit. In John 14, Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit as the comforter. Verse sixteen says he will give us a comforter, and read this verse in John 14,
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26. KJV.

Five Ways
Five ways to find comfort in times of trouble are to love God, reading God’s Word, obeying, praying, and seeking God in all you do. But, beloved, sin can creep in and destroy your life. Sin robs you of peace and comfort. So if chaos surrounds you, are there some sins that you are harboring. Perhaps, there is someone you need to forgive, something you need to give up, or something you need to change. Only you know, and God knows the answer to this.
Father God, thank you for the Holy Spirit and that we can experience comfort even in chaos. Your Holy Spirit convicts and comforts us. We are saints who sometimes sin, and we do not have to sin. In First John 1:9, it says if we confess our sins, You will forgive us. We are blessed even in chaos. We can trust You with our lives. In Jesus’s name, amen.
What do you need to do daily to feel comfortable in times of trouble?
