Unpacking 31 Verses to Live By – Day 12
Beloved, Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible and Psalm 90. Yesterday was a hard day for me, I carry verses that I write out on index cards, and I am still trying to learn Romans 15:13. As I arrived on the unit, two wives were sitting outside the glass doors of the patients. That could only mean that the patient in each of those rooms had hours to live.
Moses in this Psalm says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 To number our days is to keep a calendar, to be on time for our appointments, our obligations, to be a good steward of our time. If we do that, we will gain a heart of wisdom.
Wisdom is knowledge, an intuition that guides us. We all need wisdom.
I met with the women and provided some comfort and kleenex. And I gave them the verses I had written, hoping that the verse would provide comfort. But, unfortunately, they both lost their husbands yesterday. So you see, sweet friend, we are not promised tomorrow.
Father God, let us be good stewards of our time, our lives. Let us be a reflection of Your love. In Jesus’s name Amen
