Unwrapping the Names of Jesus – Day 14
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15: 1, 5. NKJV.
Beloved, do you love to garden? Today, as we unwrap the names of Jesus, He is the vine.
Sweet Friend, I never have been much Gardner. However, I have a friend who is a Master Gardner. Her name is Nancy, and she loves to toil in the soil.
Recently, in Bible Study Fellowship, we studied the parable of the sower and the seed and the soil in Matthew 13. The bottom line is we want to be good soil, receptive soil, so the message we hear can grow deep roots and produce roots. Additionally, in John, we need to be attached to the branch, and the vine then bears much fruit.
Beloved, because of the Holy Spirit, we will produce fruit. We have the promise of making the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5,
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [g]gentleness, self-control.
Galatians 5: 22-23. NKJV.
Our responsibility is to check the soil of our hearts. Do you have enough Jesus in your soil? Enough Holy Spirit?
Sweet Friend, the way to Jesus is to pray daily, read the Bible, and be willing to share where the hope of your joy comes from when asked?
Father God, thank you for Jesus the True Vine. In Jesus’s Name. Amen.
