Unwrapping the name of Jesus-Day 18
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45. NKJV.
Beloved, what are some of the verses you have memorized? The verses I remember the most are what I learned as a child. Today as we unwrap the names of Jesus, we focus on the Son of Man. Another verse that I learned is found in Luke,
for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10.
Sweet friend, this name is one to celebrate because Jesus was God, yet He was fully human. He identified as a man, so He understands when we struggle with temptation and sin. Jesus demonstrated His love for us and died on the cross while still sinners. We are sinners saved by grace. We are His workmanship created to give Him glory.
In our unwrapping the names of Jesus, Jesus as the Son of Man heals the paralytic in Matthew 9, and in Matthew 12, Jesus is declared as the Lord of the Sabbath, “For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” Matthew 12:8.
Lastly, we read in Matthew 13: 47, that the Son of Man is the sower of the good seed, “He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.”
