When things are tough the voice I hear in my head, “Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.” “No Pain, No Gain.” Days filled with pain and the pain screaming yet when times are tough the tough get going.
What do your days look like? Is there pain? sadness? hopelessness? helplessness? Perhaps, your husband just left you for a younger woman, or you just found out you have a lump in your left breast, you have more month than money. What voice do you hear when you feel pain, sadness, hopelessness, helplessness, shame, and hate? Is it the voice of the enemy? In James 4:6-8 we have the way on how to draw near to God and how to resist the devil.
But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will fleefrom you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.…
The sweetest voice is the voice of prayer, whisper a prayer in the morning, whisper a prayer at noon, whisper a prayer in the evening to keep your heart in tune.
Beloved, are you using your voice for the glory of God? Which voice will you listen to? The voice of the enemy. or The voice of God.
