Collect
Why do we collect things? A doll collection, a stamp collection, a Hummel figurine collections, or bigger things such as a car collection. With the passing of my mother in law, we were cleaning and we found a collection of silverware and Bion Tears. In the bible, the Israelites were instructed to collect enough manna for the day and night when they would over collect it would turn bad.
He rained down manna for them to eat; he gave them bread from heaven. Psalm 28: 74
The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Canaan. Exodus 16:35
Beloved, what are you collecting? Are you trusting God for today? for tomorrow?
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

September 30, 2016 at 5:02 pmI am amazed at what some people collect & the amount of money some people spend on their collections. I hope I always trust God for today and tomorrow.

September 30, 2016 at 5:37 pmI collect small amounts of thing but have inherited some large collections of things. I appreciate the direction your thoughts took with checking the amount of a collection as God had the Israelites do. Something to think on. – Lori

October 1, 2016 at 10:23 amDear Lori, I have a collection of dolls that I need to do something with. The Isarelites grumbled at God’s provision and I need to be reminded to never do that. Blessings Diana

September 30, 2016 at 10:04 pmWhen I go into the yard, and hear a whisper from God, I look for a piece of quartz, rose or yellow, in our gravel driveway. One day, when I have enough, I will make these into a mosaic for my wife to take to her office.

October 1, 2016 at 12:45 pmI’ve always loved the visual of the manna going bad after one day. Relating it to how I trust (or fail to trust) that God will provide every day is a humbling and beautiful reminder. Visiting from FMF#41
