Five Minute Friday
Five Minute Friday a time to write, freely for five minutes, no worries about grammar.

As a young girl, memorization of God’s Word was easy. The first verse I learned was John 3:16. Sword drills were a favorite, finding the minor prophets and stepping forward winning the coveted surprise. My mother praying for me, she was the most important person in my world. My world was small and consisted of church, attending school, and playing with my girlfriends. My girlfriends were my world, between playing Barbies and riding our bicycles we were free. Growing up, when I was fifteen, my world changing as we left the Kansas and moved to California. Boys rocked my world in high school, a tough balance for a Christian teenager. Choosing Mr. Right and marrying at the age of 18, singing, “We’ve Only Just Begun.” Baby boy arriving made my world complete, motherhood changing my world. Second baby changes the world but oh so sweet. Amazing Grace my world changes again as my sweet mama goes home to be with the Lord when I was twenty-five. Yet God is good and He loves me when my world is rocked and I am not sure I want to live. Yet my world is my children and they need me so my new motto starts, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Children grow where does the time go, empty nest, my world changes. Grandchildren so special, God’s blessings. Working, writing, and care-giving is what consumes my time now because our world is always revolving and changing.
Stop.

June 12, 2015 at 5:35 pmWhat a sweet whirlwind of a world tour of your years. I enjoyed reading it and empathized with teen years. I don’t have an empty nest yet. My child is growing and needs me. I feel so blessed. Thanks for sharing this inspiration. 🙂

June 13, 2015 at 5:20 amYes, ‘when my world is rocked’. As steady and solid as it actually is in real life, it is our personal relationships that hold us together, and constitute the world we live in. So easily shaken. I’m so grateful, as you must be, of God’s constant love through it all. He does love the world, and he loves us so dearly.
