X-cellent
God’s Attributes
God is good, God is great, God is X-cellent. Praising God for His attributes, how do you do an “X’? Should we praise God because He made a xylophone. Psalm 150 is all about praising God, in verse 6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Praising the Lord is a great way to get your mind off of trouble, a wonderful way to cope with frustration, an awesome way to cope with fear. Count your blessings name them one by one. Beloved, daily we serve a great God that is good all the time and He is excellent.
Yesterday arriving at the airport at 5:00 a.m. full of anticipation only to meet with frustration as my flight was cancelled. What happens when your plans change?
Well, I sent up a 911 prayer, “Lord, I need you to intervene and find me a seat on a plane to Oklahoma.”
I was on the phone to my husband to come back to get me when the American representative spoke up.
“Mrs. Rockwell, I can get you on a flight at 10:00 a.m.” Silently, I said to the Lord, “Thank you!”
Beloved, our Lord is in the business of answering prayers. Do you thank God for answered prayer?
So my adventure continued. After five hours in the airport, I boarded the plane for Dallas.
In Dallas, the co-pilot was missing delayed by bad weather. Soon, we boarded the plane, only to be sent back to the airport due to bad weather. More 911 prayers. This time I asked for prayers on face-book, I was feeling some anxiety okay a lot of anxiety. Yes, prayers are answered. I made it to Lawton, Oklahoma. I was only eight hours late. However, look at the view God gave me as we flew above the storm. This was worth the momentary fear I had because I knew God was in control. Beloved, he answers prayer.
God is X-cellent. He paints a beautiful sky. Beloved, your turn God is ______________.
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Isaiah 12:5
Listen and Hear God’s Voice
Grain for bread is crushed, Indeed, he does not continue to thresh it forever. Because the wheel of his cart and his horses eventually damage it, He does not thresh it longer. This also comes from the LORD of hosts, Who has made His counsel wonderful and His wisdom excellent. Isaiah 28: 28-29
When you are afraid, what is your first reaction? Do you trust God with your fears? Count your blessings name them one by one- Beloved, what are your blessings?
Father God, how excellent are your ways! Your love is amazing. I am in awe of your majesty. Lord, there are times when we let fear rule our lives. Anxiety is not our friend. Worry creeps in and then feelings of insecurity. Lord, I love that you meet us where we are even when we are in airplanes above the clouds. Lord you are so beautiful. Lord many of us are in broken relationships, we do not understand why we are going through the trial we are facing, yet your way is excellent and we can trust you with our situation. Lord, the path we are on is your excellent plan. Yet we don’t always trust the path but your word says to not lean on our own understanding and to trust you. Lord, let us walk in faith. Let us count our blessings and never forget that You are Good all the time. You are X-cellent. I Love you Lord.

Hope this isn’t too off topic, but a friend just shared this with me, and I think it is excellent! We were talking about how me might have responded if we had lived back in the times of the ancient Israelites, depending on manna in the desert and all. And she shared this verse:
“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’” Acts 17:24-28
And the point, the words I have missed in the past, is that God has allotted the period of time and the boundaries of our dwelling that we might seek God and find Him. So here we are, in the US, in this century, because this is just when and where God always wanted us to be. I was never designed to be someone else, somewhere else. From the beginning of time, God always intended for me to be me, and to be right here in this time period where I am, and the reason is that this is the best time and place for me to have found God. The ramifications of all of this just keep on being more amazing the more I think about it.
